Finally …. A BC Family Rafting Adventure designed for kids as young as 7 years old.
With 41 years of rafting experience in Wells Gray Park, Interior Whitewater offers you our always popular "Catch A Wave" trip. A trip that children as young as 7 can enjoy, "Catch A Wave"is much more than just another family outing. We’ve been told time and time again from parents that this trip was one of the most rewarding experiences their kids have ever had.
Gone are electronic gadgets, chores, and schedules. Our "Catch A Wave" trip makes everyone feel like they are part of a team, all working together to achieve a common goal. Our safety conscious and informative guides will do their utmost to teach a little bit about the natural history and geology of the area as well as find time to go for a hike to a breathtaking waterfall or explore some old growth forest. The splashy whitewater we raft is at the perfect level of excitement to satisfy those more adventurous while bringing even the most hesitant young rafters into the fun!
Family friendly rafting designed for ages 7 and up! Our newest trip is a wonderful way to enjoy an introduction to whitewater with lots of fun waves and splashes in a section of the lower canyon on the Clearwater River that excludes the more challenging areas of the whitewater. During this trip we will hike to a waterfall and include some games and a snack. Begins mid-July.
ADULT: $134.00 + tax
YOUTH: $119.00 + tax (16 AND UNDER) Minimum Age: 7 years
Class: I & II Rapids
Departs: 10 am and 2 pm This trip is available starting mid-July (depending on the water levels)
On our "Catch a Wave" trip, your family will get a taste of whitewater action on the Clearwater River. You will raft through plenty of exciting Class II rapids, perfect for younger kids looking for an adventure. A higlight of the trip is the short hike up to kid-sized waterfall where parents and children alike have a blast jumping through the falls and into the natural pool below.
"Catch A Wave" is a unique experience whether you’re 7 years old, a teen, or an adult. It is a way to bond for parents and children, brothers and sisters, grandparents and grandchildren. But don’t just take our word for it, come and experience a family outing like no other from the best seat in the house—aboard one of our rafts on the"Catch A Wave" trip this summer.
IWE has strong safety policies regarding all trips. We have a minimum of two guides on every"Catch A Wave" even with as few as four guests. We stay away from the big rapids of the Clearwater River and operate the "Catch A Wave" trip on a section of river that is class two only. We start in late July when the levels have receded and the water and air temperatures have warmed up. All participants are outfitted with a 3mm wetsuit for warmth as well as a fleece pullover, splash jacket, lifejacket, and helmet.
This trip is ideal for:
For families with kids too young to participate in regular adult whitewater rafting trips.

I’d never done river rafting before and I think it was the best thing in my whole life! If I could I would come every dayHanna
Doug, We just wanted to drop you a line and tell you we missed being able to raft with IWE down the Clearwater River this Covid cursed year. Your decision to not operate because the restrictions put your clients safety in jeopardy was tough but so much who you are. We have done many whitewater trips, in Canada and away and yours is the only one we felt completely prepared us for every scenario before we set off. Your guides are superb, friendly and highly trained. Our favorite trip, Guaranteed Addiction (7 times!) can't be beat for excitement and thrills. Then the 5 day trip down the Chilcotin with you and your crew was such a great one we did it twice. When you reopen we will be on your doorstep, with as many family members we can bring along. Please post this in your reviews for us if you can. Thanks and see you next year!Allen and Kathy Bell
